Pizzafest 2014 Recap

Pizzeria Prontos Ready for Pizzafest

Pizzafest 2014 has wrapped, and the Pizzacraft team is still amazed by the response from the community, attendees, and participants and want to take one more opportunity to say THANK YOU – and let those of you who missed the event drool over our great times and invite you to come in 2015!

Planning for Pizzafest began in late June and our momentum quickly built as we realized the excitement and potential for our idea. Our office all jumped on board, along with our neighbors at Pyramid Brewery who supplied the beverages. By Friday, November 7th, our office had been completely taken over with Pizzafest prep!

Our main focus for Pizzafest was to put on an event that would rally the community to obviously celebrate pizza – but also to raise money for the local Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (aka BOSS). BOSS is dedicated to helping the homeless, poor and disabled achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fighting against the root causes of poverty and homelessness. We were able to donate over $8,000 from Pizzafest and cannot thank them enough for becoming part of our family. If you are able, please consider donating or volunteering.

Nick Presenting Pizzafest Donation to BOSS We had 14 amazing cookoff teams participate; they showed up with great spirit and were eager to show us their skills using the Pizzeria Pronto. There were haute cuisine pizzas, dessert pizzas, and classic recipes to be tasted and savored. The large, hungry crowd queued up to try their slices, and our teams rose to the challenge.

One more round of applause for our People's Choice Winners - Life of Pie! Our very own former intern Nikki and her team wowed the crowed not just with delicious food, but with a professional and thoughtful presentation.

We couldn't have done this without the help of the entire Pizzacraft team. A special thanks to Wendy, Nick & Simone for all of their hard work and dedication.

Pizzafest Team Members

When all was said and done we were exhausted, out of pizza, and proud of our accomplishments for year one. We hope you'll consider joining us in 2015, and by signing up for the Pizzacraft newsletter you'll be one of the first to know when it will take place!
